about

Under A Midwest Sky is a collection of songs written over a span of 3 years, reflecting life and experiences growing up and living in the state known as Nebraska. The Midwest has been to me, an expanse reflecting worlds existing in tandem, inward and outward, myth and world building, heartbreak, joy, hearth, and home.

I thank those in my life that continue to support and believe in my existence, your influence is invaluable and without you these reflections would not here.
Thank you over and over.

Most of Under A Midwest Sky was self recorded in my childhood home of Broken Bow, NE in the summer of 2020 while I rehabilitated a broken wrist.

What It Feels Like To Breath was recorded in a kitchen tucked in a valley of Rio en Medio, NM. You’ll hear my friend Jeremy supporting the song with his voice and guitar. If you listen closely you’ll hear the sleeping whistle and rustling of my best friend who has since crossed the rainbow bridge, Paradise the dog.

The artwork was conjured and painted years prior by my friend Amber Winter, who without hearing the songs knew what they looked like.

Under A Midwest Sky was mixed by the attune and imaginative ear of Alessandro Takeshi and myself.
Alessandro also mastered the album.

Thank you for taking the time to read and listen to what I have to express, I hope you find yourself in these songs and may they bring you what you need.

Lastly, I’d like to dedicate this album to Paradise, who was there with me for 20 years, Under A Midwest Sky.
